Hello and a happy new year to you!

I just went to add a few image thumbnails to a post today, and found that all the “Link To” dropdown selections in the Image Details editor come up as a grey, unediable box w/no URL. Saving the Image Details to any selection results in the dropdown defaulting to “None.”

I did the usual plugin activation/deactivation procedure, and the problem only shows up when the Media Credit plugin is activated.

    Running PHP v5.4.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

What version of WordPress are you using? Which theme?

Can you please post a step by step workflow on how to reproduce this issue (if possible, with no other plugins activated)?

4.7 with a highly modified version of Admiral running as a child theme.

That said, I just deactivated ALL my plugins short of IgniteUp, PageBuilder Site Origin, and Media Credit. Still does it. Deactivated PageBuilder. Still does it. Set theme to Twenty Sixteen. Still does it.

This was my exact workflow that led to the issue:

    Create new post
Begin typing new post; click Add Media button and drag new image to upload it
Select image and add it to post
    Change visibility to “private”
    Save incomplete post
Open post, click image, select edit button, open Image Details dialog box
Change “Link To” to “Media File,” get grey box w/o fixed link
    Save page
Reopen Image Details dialog box after save
“Link To” drop-down now on “None” selection.

I tried repeating the workflow with with the site in the stripped-down state as well. I opened the Image Details dialog box before saving; and on this INITIAL inspection before page save, the “Link To” option comes up as “Custom URL” by default. Trying to swap it to “Media File” or “Attachment Page” results in the same blank grey box below it. Resaving the page with “Media File” chosen changes the Link To selection to “None” after the save.

With any luck, you should be able to replicate the problem on a clean copy of WordPress.

Let me know how it goes. If you need anything else, just let me know.

Excellent! Glad to know I was able to help. I’ll be running the plugin in the meantime though; glad to report back when its updated, if it helps.

The issue should be fixed in 3.1.4.
