Are you referring to the “edit profile” link shown in the author boxes? No, you can’t disable that; but it’s only shown to logged-in authors.

We don’t give dates as we got burned far too many times ??
Versions with new features come out every 2 to 3 months and I don’t see a reason we can’t include this feature in that next release ??
