link to add in the custom menu?

I’m looking for this functionality too.

The plugin creates a widget. The widget displays a customized BuddyPRess menu. The widget can be used in any widget area. The widget cannot be used in a custom menu nor can it be used in the BuddyBar/WordPress admin bar (without custom coding).

The widget is the menu.

The plugin also allows you to place menu shortcodes within page/post content text.

Shortcodes can be used in menus by use of 3rd party plugins such as UberMenu.

No, as my serious answer, the most likely cause is the way the Shortcode in Menus plugin renders shortcodes. Do any other shortcodes not work?

Actually I have not tried it on other shortcodes. I only installed it to try it out with BuddyMenu.

I heard of another method, namely, adding
add_filter(‘wp_nav_menu_items’, ‘do_shortcode’);
to functions.php

Might this work?

Depends on your theme. Can sometimes be painful to do it that way.

There is another option that I know does work:

BuddyPress 1.9.1 (latest version) adds a BuddyPress menu section to Appearance > Menus. You might not be able to see it by default. When you go to Appearance > Menus, click the “Screen Options” button at the very top right of the screen. You can then tick to select the available menu link types you would like to add to your custom menus.
