• Hiya,

I need you guys’ help on this. As you can see on the website i am working on: https://www.postponers.com/wordpress/ i have a newsticker on the left. This newsticker grabs its data from an rss feed of a category that i made especially for this. This category doesn’t show up on the frontpage. Here’s what i want to do:

i want to link the titles of these newsitems to something else then the item page, where people can comment and stuff. I want to be able to enter a custom address for a post, which is saved in the rss too. For example:

A newsflashitem with a livedate of our band gets linked to the gigs section of our website, a newsflashitem of a new song for download gets linked to the media section, etc.

Hope you can help me out on this one.

    Thanks

  • How’s that ticker work? Is it a WordPress plugin, did you build it into the theme, what RSS feed does it index, etc.?

EDIT: Ooh, wait, I see, now, it’s flash. I assume it’s pulling the link from the <link> part of the feed, and that’s what you want to edit out of the feed.

Yep, it’s a flash rss reader type thing that i built, not a plugin. It gets the data from this particular feed:

    https://www.postponers.com/wordpress/feed/?cat=3

So what i want to do, is when i write a post for this category, give a custom link that is also written into the rss.
