Link Thumbnail to media file

    Is there a way to open the original image when clicking the thumbnail/number instead of opening a new theme based page?

    Or a better idea would be to open the image as a lightbox…. as the days progress you could scroll through the images.

    Would this be easy to do or would the plug-in need totally recoding?

  • For linking directly to the image, in the post entry, change the Page Links To: from Its normal WordPress URL to A custom URL. Then add the media file URL to the A custom URL field.

    If you have a lightbox plugin installed (one that allows for adding class tags to control the pop up), you could then edit your advent-calender/public/public/shortcode-entry-published.php file, adding the lightbox class to the a href link. Ideally, you’d probably want to plug into it, instead of editing the source in case of future updates.
