link publishing not working regardingon the WordPress Role

  • Hi,
    i’ve an issue with the plugin on my website when publishing a link in a group on the activity feed :
    If the user has a adminstrator role in WordPress, the link is correctly publish
    If the user has a subscriber role in WordPress and check “No thumbnail”, the link is correctly publish
    If the user has a subscriber role in WordPress and do not check “No thumbnail”, the link is not published and nothing happen.
    I’ve try to disable all my plugins regarding to actitivity stuff, but none seems to be in conflict, the issue still happend.
    Have you ever heard about this kind of issue ?
    And how to solve it ?

  • The problem seems to be at the plugin not working at all not only in groups. In my website, when i try to publish a link fro whatever website, not only that it gives me error and does nto want to publish it but also preview content of the link is not working since WP 5.0 verision update and is the same of all of my 3 websites using this plugin…

    Hello @mathieu75,

    Sorry for the delay. I have tested this issue and I can’t replicate it. Can you check your settings in Settings -> Discussion -> Comment Moderation? If you have there a small number for the comment moderation can you increase it and see if this will help?

    I am running my website on latest WP and I can’t replicate your issue. This might be plugin conflict on your site, but since this is not exactly the same issue as the author of the ticket, please create own as per forum regulations.

    Im also having this issue, administrator user can post links, etc… subscribers can’t, it was working fine a few days ago…

    If it was working a few days ago then maybe something was changed in your WordPress? Like plugin/theme update? Or a new plugin. Do you recall any changes made?

    @wpmudev-support2 All my websites are with different configurations. From 2 months I publish links only with the Publish update button the ordinarry one from BP. I am receiving an error: There has been an error processing your request.

    Also it happened after upgrading to WP 5 in some websites after 5,1. and still not working.

    Some of the plugins that exist in most of the instalations, cache plugins are different in each instalation, also on others there is no directory plugins, only in one from which i copied the list:

    Ok, I tried everything possible, no luck…

    deactivated all plugins but buddypress and buddypress activity plus, didn’t work.
    downgraded wordpress to prior versions, no luck.

    to replicate, just add a user with the user role of “subscriber” and try adding a link. it doesn’t work.

    I was performing test exactly this way and I could not replicate this error for my subscriber user.

    Can you enable debug mode and see what it showing in logs?
