    Hi folks,

We are starting to use thirstyaffiliates and adding the existing affiliate links into it.

We create a new affiliate link for each product landing page and then we add the sids / campaign_ids, that we already have, manually in the text editor. For example, the links end up looking like this:

    • www.example.com/go/category/product_landing_page/?campaign_id=abc

This allows us to create a single thirsty affilate link which helps us in managing the links. However, when we want to see the instances of www.example.com/go/category/product_landing_page/ by running a “Link Inserted Scanner” all the links the have a custom camaping_id are not found.

What’s the best practice to deal with campaign ids? Should we create multiple affiliate links or is it feasible to show them in the scanner?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

The Link Inserted Scanner will look for an exact match for the link so if it contains query parameters after the URL then the post won’t be picked up. In order to have it work with query parameters, you’ll want to create a new link with the query parameter applied to it in the Destination URL and then it should be picked up by the scanner.

Oh, that’s unfortunate for us. That would make link management much harder. Is the ability of having different sids/camapign ids something that you would consider supporting?

    Hi,

We may in the future, but I don’t have an ETA at this time, sorry about that.
