Link in tablepress doesn't work

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

You’ll simply have to click into the desired cell again after confirming that message with the instructions. So, basically, just reverse the order of your clicks:
1. Click “Insert Link”.
2. Confirm with “Ok”.
3. Click into the desired cell.

Ok, then it is possible that some other plugin is interfering here.
If possible, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site. Could you therefore please create a temporary admin account for me and send me the details via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

just to let everybody know: I have been working on this directly with Peter, and we found that the CKEditor for WordPress plugin is interfering slightly.
Temporarily deactivating that, while adding the links, will work fine.

One question…do you think you will be adding a bug fix for the ckeditor issue? I use ckeditor and really don’t like tinymce.

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any news on this here, as I don’t really know how I can fix this in TablePress. It’s a complex issue where both plugins are involved.
My hope is that the issue disappears after I rewrite the “Edit” screen from scratch, but before that, I don’t really see a solution to this. Sorry.
Note that WordPress 3.9 will come with a completely new version TinyMCE, so maybe that’s an alternative again.

I’m trying to add a link in my TablePress table too but it just shows the link text and isn’t actually a link. I’ve clicked Insert link, got the message, hit OK, clicked in the cell and pasted my link, but no clickable link appears. It’s just the address people then have to cut and paste on their own. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you for your help.

So, after clicking the “Insert Link” button, and then OK and into a cell, do you see a small dialog showing up? There, did you enter the desired text and the correct URL? After then clicking OK, is there some code showing in the table cell, similar to

<a href="http:/...">...</a>

?

No, no dialog box for the link. Can I just put the HTML you posted above with my link in the box manually and will it work?

ok, that’s strange. That indicates that some JavaScript might be interfering.

Adding the links manually is then the best way. Just add something like

<a href="https://your-site.com/page-123/">The link text</a>

to the cell then.
