Link hotspots to anchors on single page website

    Hi Tyler,
    Note: am trying to find my way with WP on a local site.
    Theme: child theme of the DIVI theme.

    First: thnx a lot for this plugin! After searching & trying all kinds of tools, DrawAttention is the one for me and I’m willing to pay for it. It works great, even for wp-beginners.

    Question: I intended to make a single page website with an image map in every section. When I link to another page it works, when linking to an anchor on the same page, it doesn’t.

    Am I missing something?

    Hi there,

    Thanks, glad the plugin is working well for you ?? I believe the URL should work even with anchor links on the same page. Are you entering the URL like:
    #someanchor

    or like:
    https://mysite.com/single-page/#someanchor
    ?

    Depending on how you have it formatted, please try the other one and let me know if that works for you. If you’re still having trouble let me know and I’ll get your version of Divi and some other details to try troubleshooting the issue.

    Hi Nathan, thanks for your quick response!

    I tried 3 options:
    Both you mentioned AND /#someanchor. No luck so far.

    Too bad, I really’d have liked to use it.
    But then I also saw that the 74,- is for 1 year of updates/support only.
    That’s a bit much if you’re using it for fun…

    I’d still like to use it on 1 image then.
    Could the problem be that I’m working on a local site at the moment?

    Hi Hetty,

    Sorry you’re still having trouble. It shouldn’t be related to being a local site, but it might be something specific to the javascript and styles in Divi. We’ll try to reproduce the issue on Thursday with the copy of Divi we have here!

    Hi Hetty,

    I believe we have a fix for this now, can you try updating to the latest version we just released (1.6.1) and setup the anchor link like:

    #someanchor

    Let me know if that works for you!

    Hi Nathan,
    You’ve made my day, it works!

    The only weird thing happening now, is that in a full width row of 4 images, of which 1 is the DrawAttention imagemap, the imagemap suddenly has a spacing on top, so the 4 are not aligned properly anymore.

    This did not happen when inserting the imagemap before the update. Hope I’ll figger it out without CSS knowledge. If you think of a reason due to the update, I’d be more than happy to hear from you.

    I can’t think of anything in our last set of changes that would cause that, but I’ll post here if we do think of something!
