  • Read up on Pingbacks and Trackbacks. Both are mentioned here: Introduction_to_Blogging

With that done, the option on Write -> Posts may make more sense (look over in the right column under “Discussion”. That’ll control it post by post.

To kill ’em wholesale, visit Options -> Discussion and uncheck “Allow link notifications from other Weblogs (pingbacks and trackbacks.)”

Aside: You really don’t want to be notified when someone mentions one of your posts?

Euhm.. Is it possible to be notified in a different way instead of a comment in my entry?

Did you read up on Pingbacks and Trackbacks from that link I provided?

Now, if your question was meant to be, “Can I style or present them differently?” then the answer is an enthusiastic yes.

Some searching here and on the web will turn up some options. In fact, I just saw a plugin that did it the other day (lost the url, sorry).

Here’s a method that involves a bit of theme editing: https://www.bram.us/2006/04/05/my-improved-pingbacks-trackbacks-comments-separation-for-wordpress-20/
