Link Events to Custom Post Type

    I am interested in purchasing your plugin and a few add-ons, however I have a question:

    I want to use the plugin to display events at a book festival. Each event has a book author. I would like each event to be linked to the author, which is stored in WP as a separate custom post type using ACF. I would like to be able to display, and filter on, the author using the Filter Bar Plugin.

    I realize that this is not possible by default (and that you can create custom fields within the plugin). However, I am wondering if the plugin will allow me to link to my custom post type programmatically, if I code the functionality using PHP. I’m also wondering how difficult this would be and if there are any examples you could post me to.

    Hi @dietcheese,

    That sounds like a fairly straightforward customization ??

    Searching our forums here and on theeventscalendar.com for similar examples could definitely be a worthy exercise. I can’t however really speak to how difficult it would be, as of course that really varies according to each individual developer’s level of knowledge and experience.

    I would suggest that if you’ve done something similar with other plugins then it ought not to be too demanding and perhaps you’d even be able to resuse a lot of code.
