Link does appear in post excerpt

To clarify – do you want the PowerPress player to show up in excerpts?

Hi Shawn,

Is it possible display the PowerPress player in excerpts? I tried [powerpress] as well as [powerpress url=” “] but neither one correctly displayed.

The previous developer used some Javascript code that doesn’t appear to be operational.

martinog – if the PowerPress player isn’t showing up in excerpts and you’d like it to, go to PowerPress >> Settings, Advanced Mode >> Media Appearance >> Having issues? and select Yes, please try to fix and then click the Save Changes button. If that doesn’t work, you can also try the Yes, alternative fix option.

martinog – also, make sure Display media/links in WordPress excerpts is checked in the Media Appearance tab before trying to the steps I’ve suggested above.

Shawn 1) When just [powerpress] is entered, it gets ignored. 2) The URL is getting stripped out and just [powerpress url= “”] is displayed.

The WordPress excerpts box was checked.

Is there any other recommendation?

martinog – Try entering the shortcode in the plain text side of the WordPRess post editor, not the visual editor side.

For the excerpt section, there is only one tab. You don’t have both Visual and Text.

I just found out that shortcodes don’t work at all in WordPress excerpts. Sorry about that.

Have you tried what I suggested here.

I think I wrongly described my issue ??

I know the option to have the player displayed in the excerpt.

My concern is that the url of the media is appearing in the excerpt itself…

Like that:

The http part shouldn’t appear I think… The url also appears even is media appearance is checked…

fpiron – It’s probably your WordPress theme or a plugin that’s causing the media to display like that. You can try some of the suggestions on this page to see if you can determine the source of the issue:
