Link button in posts & pages not working

If you’re switching between editors, that may be the problem – doing so strips out code. Try updating the page first.

Thanks! I am “saving draft” before I switch between editors. Then it is missing in visual and when I move back to text it is also missing. I tried with linking to my own pages & blogs as well as a random website and same thing happens. It basically just disappears.

Hmm, that seems to work okay for me on a test site. Try deactivating all plugins and switching to the twentytwelve theme – standard troubleshooting temporary steps. See if it still does that while switched.

OK thanks. Just want to check, If I switch back to twenty twelve will I lose my information stored in my Genesis Minimum theme? I’m assuming no, but want to be sure. Thanks, I will then try this.

You will lose your options/ settings and have to set them again.

Your settings should be saved for the theme.

So I did some investigating and it looks like the code before this problem for a link looked like this:

Now, the code for the link where it is not copying to visual editor/preview/post it looks like this:

Any ideas on how to change it to the original format that still works. I coped the original into a new post and that copies no problem.

oh interesting, i typed in the code and it is showing up the way that it is happening on my program

for the one that showed "Wise Mind" the code looked like-

Sounds like you may not be using the link button correctly – a few other people have had the same question lately. This seems to work –

Type the text you want to link – then highlight it

Then click on the link button – in the popup, add the URL for the link – click Okay (or whatever it is to save).

See if that works.
