“link” button in post toolbar not working in HTML mode

    I’ve noticed an odd problem when creating WP posts- the “link” button doesn’t work when in HTML mode. The problem persists across all computers(macbook pro and imac) and browsers(firefox,chrome, and safari) tested on. Also, the other buttons(bold, italics, etc) work just fine in both HTML and Visual mode.

    Any ideas what could be causing the trouble? Thanks.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.
