Link All Variations not working in 2.1.9

the Link All Variations on the Variable option in adding a product has stopped working. It says 0 variations added.
I found this problem in one site. then went to another site that hadnt been updated yet. Tested it and it worked. Updated the Woocommerce plug in and now that one doesnt work either
Need a fix asap
