Line Break bug

I have to manually add paragraph tags around my descriptions to make line breaks happen appropriately. Using <br> tags cannot get the spacing right. Using <p> is not ideal because the tags are lost if you ever switch to WYSIWYG editor. Using <p> tags also adds a little extra white space at the end of the description. How can I avoid having to add these tags?

This bug is related to the previous one I posted, which also involves the use of <p> tags.
