    Hi,

first of all – thanks for creating this nice conference plugin.

I’ve got a question concerning limitation. Is there a way to limit the number of participants per conference(-day) who are able to register for different workshops / sessions? Lets say, we have a venue with 50 beds or limited capacity of 50 person for food and beverages.

    best regards
    Andreas

I assume you’re talking about the Pro version (that has the registration module). That being said, you can currently limit the number of participants per workshop, but there isn’t any way to limit the total number of users who can register. How do you plan to have users create accounts – are they going to buy a product (and thus you could limit the quantity available), or is it free to create an account and then register?

I could certainly develop a custom add-on that would allow for this functionality if you’re interested – email me with details of what you’d like at [email protected]

Yes, You are right about the Pro version. Our users are more or less free to create an account (however, users are approved not automatically, but after check by human being) and then register.

Our event scenarios are two different:

    1. “Simple” Event with limited capacity: That means, i need an event management where users can register with “one click”

    2. Complex Event: Different Workshops throughout the day with a lot of parallel sessions

My idea was to use a common event management plugin (also because of dynamic elements like event overview pages (grid, lists, widgets etc), detail pages and so on) with simple registration and limitation functionality for scenario 1.

For scenario 2 i would like to use these kind of plugin too and additionally i would like to use Your plugin. In the first step users can register for the event in common and if they are registered they can access and choose the different workshops that are provided by the “conference scheduler”. Of course It would be much more better to, if the simple registration of scenario can be fullfilled by “conference scheduler” too, in order to avoid to different (the simple one by common event registration plugin and the complex one by conferece scheduler) registration processes.

I hope it is clear what i mean. Unfort. i haven’t found a good solution up to now for this scenario. May be You can ??

Do you have multiple workshops in your simple event, or it’s just a single registration? If it’s only 1 (which I think), then you can create a single “workshop” to represent a simple event and limit its capacity. You can use the shortcode attributes to limit display to particular session(s), so you can show something that only has the single workshop in one place, and other more complex schedules with multiple workshops on other pages.

I’ve modified your demo site with a sample of how this could work – check it out.

I’m looking to add multiple event functionality in a future release that would do this more cleanly, but for now it should be possible as described.

No, we have event-days where only one single workshop needs to be “bookable” and other days with multiple workshops and parallel sessions. Nevertheless, Your reply answered all my questions actually. Thanks for providing the demo-examples.

    best regards
