Limiting The Categories Used In A Blog

Hello All! I’m a novice WordPress user and fan now. I’ve got a photography website and it has a static front page along with a blog on a separate page (above). Is there a plugin that will allow me to exclude categories from being posted on that blog page? I’d like to avoid coding if possible.
