limiting the amount of post that happens from a tag

tried [ic_add_posts tag=’education’ showposts=’1′] and it doesn’t work..

What isn’t working for you? I threw posts in page on a dev site of ours, created two posts with the tag “education” and used your shortcode and it showed one of the education posts only. Which is what is expected, correct?

Are you getting errors, showing more than 1 post, etc?

I did use you page the posts_loop_template in my theme using a featured image php script you gave some weeks ago. Would that be the reason?

That page is using the [ic_add_posts tag=’education’ showposts=’1′] shortcode? It’s strange that it’s only pulling in posts tagged “apps” if that’s the case, if there was something broken, I think it’d show all posts.

If the problem is only that shortcode is showing the whole post though, it could be that you’ll need to create another template file for it and change it so it uses the excerpt rather than the content.

Thanks for that its the weirdest thing though if i use [ic_add_posts showposts=’1′] it will only show 1 post I am using the the default wordpress template, not my page template I made.

but as soon as i put in a tag it shows all the post from that tag…?

it works, just delted and started again and it works perfectly appreciate your time and help
