  • What do you mean by “limiting” the characters? This template tag displays the whole content of a post.
    When using this template tag you can insert the “more” tag from the Quicktags above your text inpuit area wherever you wish to break the text.

    If you want an automatic not-the-whole-post solution > use the_excerpt (which shows 120 characters of the post).

    I tried using the_exerpt and the images I am showcasing do not show up when using this!

    i want to display the picture and a bit of text with a ‘More..’ tag rather than the picture and the entire post.

    Then use the <more> quicktag when you write a post. In the template file it should be the_content tag for this. You can insert the more where you want. What’s the problem?
