    Hi,
I set up & customized a Penscratch blog at WordPress.com, then realized what I really needed was a www.remarpro.com site, so I’ve got that set up and ready to customize.

However, when I try to replicate the .com custom sidebar widgets on the .org site, only a fraction of the widgets are available—14 widgets on the .org Penscratch vs. 50 on the .com Penscratch. Missing widgets include basic ones, such as “about me” and “image”. Help, please.

WordPress.com is a multisite installation with many plugins pre-installed – that’s why there are many widgets available.

When you run a self-hosted site, you can install plugins to get the specific widgets you need.

You can get a bunch of the same widgets you have on WordPress.com through Jetpack plugin‘s Extra Sidebar Widgets module so that’s what I’d recommend starting with.

    Thanks so much, Kathryn. :^)

You must get tired of this kind of newbie problem, so I really appreciate your help.
