Limited search function

  • I would like to change the search form thus, that it doesn’t search through the entire database, but only through one table, being the post_title table. Is this possible with just altering the code or would this require a plugin?
    (It would be even greater if checkboxes provided a choice between searching only titles and search everything.)

    Ok, this is a stupid question?
    If I try to make it with a search.php (my default template doesn’t have one and I hoped I wouldn’t need one), can I put in the arguments there and still be able to use the ‘double search function’ (just titles or everything)?

    Can the above be done with the King Search widget? I haven’t been able to try it myself, because it doesn’t work in WP 2.2.3.

    Does anybody know a search widget that works with 2.2.x (and up) that has extra features? I have found but one not-standard widget that works with my 2.2.3 (proper search) but it doesn’t have any ‘extras’ (adjustments), it just search differently (or so).
