Limited functionality. User interface misleading. No support. Poor updates.

This plugin is rather limited in functionality, although it presents itself as very capable.
When you specify the conditions for a conditional menu you are presented with a multitude of options – custom taxonomies etc. However, only a small subset of conditions are actually implemented. So you may very well set conditions that will never work and you will tear your hair for hours trying to figure out what’s wrong. When I finally stepped through the code using a PHP debugger I found that there is simply no code in the plugin to test for custom taxonomies.
Several times over the last year I’ve contacted the author about this. I even provided a solution. But so far there has been no response whatsoever.
The good:
+ It may work for your particular use case, if youy have a simple use case.
The bad:
– It doesn’t work with custom taxonomies.
– The plugin is poorly written.
– The plugin is poorly tested.
– The author does not respond to support requests.
– The author does not listen to customers.
– The author seems uninterested in maintaining and developing this plugin.Being a programmer I’ve fixed the plugin so that it works for my use case. I initially gave it two stars because at least I didn’t have to write the whole plugin from scratch. But I’m lowering the rating to one star because Themify recently released an update which didn’t fix the issue with the custom taxonomies even though I’ve emailed them and posted a solution on this forum. If I hadn’t been alert I might have just upgraded the plugin along with all the others on the site overwriting my fixed code, breaking the plugin again.
