limited admin access after upgrading to 2.8.4

  • Unfortunatly i have upgraded to 2.8.4, and ther is a great mess around my blog.
    First i could not enter admin panel, getting and permission denied message.

    Then i figure it out but now i have limited access to admin section.

    I have burned my eys trying to figure it out but nothing…

    As you can see in the next image, i can only access to Profile and Tools.

    Front end is messed up too, because i have deleted all my plugins.

    And yes i made a auto upgrade.

  • I would problably try backing up my database, wp-config.php, and atleast the wp-content directoy then try a completely fresh install of 2.8.4 from scratch.

    Maybe someone knows of a different fix to get full access to your admin panel without doing all of that.

    Delete the current wp-admin and wp-includes and upload fresh copies from the core wordpress files.

    OK done that… issue persists….
    ??

    I am not sure the reason.. but I can suggest a workaround..

    1) Backup the wordpress post in XML (not the database) from tools –> export
    2) backup the database and all your files ( for the sake of convenience)
    3) Now, delete all the files and database and install a fresh copy of wp
    4) Import posts using the xml file from tools –> import

    Sorry but in Tools menu i only get the Turbo Install.

    oh.. I missed that.. you dont have enough access!!

    i will try and back up the db, and test install it in a test subdomain.
    It′s very strange, the same thing appened to my otehr blog.

    I am very upset with this.
