    Hello,

I use Better Notifications and wonder why there are certain functions when configuring settings that don’t work. For example, if I select to receive a notification: “registration of a new user – for the user”, I receive the notification that this notification does not support additional mail fields due to a limitation in WordPress. As soon as I want to notify the user, I receive this message and the plugin does not work. Therefore it is the default WordPress notifications that are sent and not those composed in Better Notifications. How to solve this problem. Thank you!

    Hi @patricklafl1,
    Thanks for your message.

I’m not quite sure I understand your question.

There are a few default WordPress email notifications that don’t have filters so it’s impossible to add or override certain settings. One of these notifications is the ‘New User Registration – For User’.

If you’ve set-up this notification in BNFW but it’s not sending out, it’s possible there is plugin or theme conflict.
If this is the case, can you make your way through this document and let me know how you get on?

I have completed all of the steps you suggest, but the problem remains. With Better Notification, I cannot send any notification to the user. I can receive it as Admin but no notification is sent at the transactional level for users. WordPress default emails are sent. The message I get is: This notification doesn’t support additional email fields due to a limitation in WordPress. How to resolve this limitation and ensure that Beter Notifications can send notifications to new users, rather than WordPress default emails?

    Hi @patricklafl1,

Just to clarify: The message that says “This notification doesn’t support additional email fields due to a limitation in WordPress” cannot be resolved – there isn’t anything wrong with your set-up or BNFW, it is an issue with WordPress that exists on every WordPress website. Until this is changed in WordPress core by the official WordPress developers, it cannot be resolved.

So moving forward, the issue you have is that the ‘New User Registration – For User’ notification that you’ve set up isn’t sending to new users. Instead, it’s sending the default notification that comes with WordPress, is that correct?

Yes, the problem is exactly that. I cannot create any notifications FOR THE USER. Until a few weeks ago I could and there it is no longer possible.

    Hi @patricklafl1,
Ok, so you’re able to create the notification, it just isn’t sending out – is that correct? Or are you unable to create the ‘New User Registration – For User’ notification by going to Notifications > Add New?

If you’re able to create the notification but they’re not sending out then a recent plugin or theme update must have caused the conflict.

How are you creating the user? Are they registering via the default Register form in WordPress, or via a plugin, or via a theme, or are you adding them via All Users > Add User?
