    Hi,
I have set a limit of submissions in the settings tab of a “select” field. I have set a limit of submissions to 1 in one option and to 0 in another option and tested it. The form keeps being submitted despite the limits established.

Is there an error? What is the expected behavior when an option’s limited is overcome? I was hopping to be able to show an error message in the form or, even better, change the color of the option to grey and make it unselectable when the limit has been overcome. Is it possible to add CSS to a select field option?

    Thanks in advance,

    cheers,
    Rod

    Hello there @nomadarod

I tested the Submission Limit functionality in Select fields and it seems that when the limit of an option is set, then it doesn’t display at all in the select’s options.
Keep in mind though that there are no actual zero limits. If you used “0” it is equal to infinite so this won’t get limited at all.

Hope that clarifies things better, let me know if further assistance is required on this.

    Thank you,
    Dimitris

    Hi Dimitris,

    That might explain it. Thanks.

I still have the issue of needing to establish these select options in both the form and in Mailchimp, while needing to hide some of the options in the form when they aren’t available (ex: an event keeps it’s title but will exist only when there will be a new date). In this case that I can’t ‘turn of’ options through establishing a limit of “0”, is there another possibility to hide options, through css for example, or any other way?

    Hi @nomadarod,

while needing to hide some of the options in the form when they aren’t available (ex: an event keeps it’s title but will exist only when there will be a new date).

Unfortunately, there isn’t any out of the box setting regarding this. Maybe you could try setting up “Submissions Retention” feature under Forminator > Settings > Submissions

And set the number of days the submission could be present in Forminator. Once they are auto-deleted after the N number of days you have set, the limits would start to appear.

Since you are using Mailchimp, the submissions will be stored in Mailchimp side. Maybe you could check and see whether that helps as a workaround?

The above setting would apply globally, you could configure the same for each form separately once you edit the form and under Settings > Privacy > Submissions tab.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Nithin,
I found a way to hide the options. I tried setting the limit to -1 and it worked. The option doesn’t appear in the form’s select field.

I guess I will keep using it like this to hide the options for which there is no dates available.

    cheers
    Rod
