Good morning,
unfortunatly as I read in other post this wonderful plugins works like a charm with all data BUT ONLY in text mode (it render ALWAYS a type=”text”).
This is a big limit and cause a lot of issue when you have to render password, data, email and so on.
Is it possible to fix this thing and give the opportunity the correct type attribute avoiding issues?

Good morning, to everyone I’d like to share as I solved this issue.
I modified the plugin changing the file contact-form-7-dynamic-text-extension.php located in the main folder of the plugin.

You can add dynamic fields in format date working perfectly.

Thank you for your contribution,
I have tried the modified plugin, but it does not give me the current date. I get the same field to fill in the current date as if I use [date]
I guess the idea is that using [dynamic date] and some shortcode automatically apply the current date without you having to do anything.
Can you tell us how to use shortcodes with your input?

suppose to have a field with ID birthday_field ok?
If You use the shortcode given by the original plugin and You try to show the data it will appear as an input type=”text”. This will cause that the data will be showed in this format yyyy-mm-dd as a string (as is on the database).
If You want to show it correctly like a date you got to insert the shortcode as following (remembering to use the modified plugin):

[dynamicdate dynamic-birthday “CF7_get_current_user key=’birthday_field’ “]

What are You asking for is different.
You want to show the current date and there are a lot of solution you can find on the web to accomplish that but is not the purpose of this wonderful plugin.
It read data from your database (eg. useful when You have to fill a form, if you are logged all basic field like username, name, surname and so on will be populated automatically).
