With this plugin is it possible to limit all customers spending to no more than $100 per 24 hour cycle?

    Hi John,

    This should be possible.

In the plugin’s settings, General Tab, I would set the mode as Price inclusive of tax and the Date range as 24 hours.

I would then go to the Limits tab and enable the Per product category option. You will need to add all your store products to one category, for example “General”

Then edit the “General” category and set the maximum limit as $100.

This way customers will only be able to buy products worth $100 in 24 hours for all products in the “General” category.

The “General” category is just an example, you can call it whatever you want.

Thanks for the reply. Am I able to specify the 24 hour cycle? For example, can I start the 24 hour cycle at 12:00am EST to 11:59pm EST? This way all the customers are on the same 24 hour cycle. Is something like this possible?

    Hi,

The time is based on your WordPress settings. Settings > General > Time Zone

    Hi,

Actually just to add, if you select the date range as 24 hours it will be 24 hours from the order time. You need to select “This Day” as the date range, for your situation.

    Hello,

    You mentioned the following,

“I would then go to the Limits tab and enable the Per product category option. You will need to add all your store products to one category, for example “General”.

I have multiple different product categories. If I list all the products under one category it will mess up the layout of my website. Is there any other option to make my previous request work?

    Hi,

There are 2 workaround’s to this.

    1. Is for you to add all the products to multiple categories. For example all to General and hide the category from your front end? Then also add the same products to their relevant categories?

    2. You could also apply the limit by payment method. So say maximum of $100 per payment method. But in this case if a customer changes his payment method they would be able to purchase more than $100.

I think it would be more suitable for you to use option 1. Where you add the products to relevant categories and then to a “General” Category as well.

    Hi,

Another solution would be to use the product tags option. In the limits, tab enable the Per product tag option. Then add the tag to relevant products and set the limit of the tag as $100.

Hey I appreciate all the suggestions.

Between categories and sub categories I have over 100 total. Six of the main category images are displayed on my homepage for customers to click on. Are you suggesting that I put the six main categories into a “general” parent category? I attempted this on my staging site and it seems the widget I’m using to display the categories does not function properly with this method. It tries to show the “general” and the uncategorized categroies instead of my previous main six categories. Most likely becuase they are sub-categories now.

The second option may be the easiest it seems. I’m not sure how to set the $100 limit though with the payment method option in the general options. I see you have the folloiwng option: Count by current payment method. Count “user already bought” data for current (i.e. chosen) payment method only.
“You may also want to disable “Validate on add to cart” and “Block checkout page” options in the “Frontend” section, so your customer could change the payment method on exceeded limits.”
If I block the checkout page it seems that would avoid them switching payment methods.

I have thousands of products so adding a general tag to each one would take awhile. Unless I can find a plugin to bulk assign tags.

I also was wondering how guest tracking works. I see you have four options to deal with guest. If I choose, ” Do nothing but block guests from purchasing products beyond the limits” What does this option track? Guest email or IP?

There is also a Limit checking checkbox. “Use product ID from default language when checking product limits. Does this option only apply to the “Block guests from buying products” section?

    Hi,

Upon further testing I realised the payment method option would not work in your situation. You will therefore have to use the tags option.

For guest tracking there are 4 options:

    1. Do nothing (i.e. do not track guest sales) – Limits will not apply to guests
    2. Do nothing but block guests from purchasing beyond the limits – This option will ensure guests do not make a purchase beyond the limits. Normal limits will apply.
    3. Block guests from buying products – this will completely not allow guests to buy any products
    4. Identify guests by IP – Limits will apply to an IP address instead of the user

The Limit checking option is meant for multi-language setups. Here the product ID of the default language will be used to check product limits.

    Hello,

I just purchased the Pro version. Order #64859. I do not see where I can set the spending limit within the settings. For example, where would I put a limit of $100 per customer?

    Zohaib

    (@zohaibayub85)

    Hi,

There are a couple of steps to configure a maximum spend of $100 per user for 24 hours.

    1. In the General settings Enable the plugin.
    2. Also in the General tab set the Mode as price inclusive of tax and the Date range as 24 hours
    3. Then go to the Limits tab and enable the Per product tag option. You will need to add all your store products to one tag, for example, “General”
    4. Then edit the “General” tag and set the maximum limit as $100.

This way customers will only be able to buy products worth $100 in 24 hours for all products in the “General” tag.

The “General” tag is just an example, you can call it whatever you want.

I posted a message under the support tab here:
    https://wpfactory.com/item/maximum-products-per-user-for-woocommerce/

But for some reason the message never showed. I think it may have been spam filtered because of a URL within my message.

Anyways, I found a bulk product editor plugin and added a tag to all of my products.

I enabled the plugin, set the Mode as price inclusive of tax and the Date range as “this day”. I enabled the checkbox for Per product tag option but I do not see anywhere to choose the Tag I added to the products or a text field where I can enter the $ limit amount within the limits tab. Where can I find this?

    Thread Starter johnboy85

    (@johnboy85)

If you could post a screenshot of where to enter the $ limit that would be great.

    Hi,

To add the $100 limit, you need to edit the tag. That is in your WordPress dashboard:

Products > Tag > Edit the relevant tag.

Thanks I found it. There are up and down arrows where you can adjust the “limit per user” in increments of 1. Is this 1 unit or $1. I’m not able to put a $ sign so I’m not sure which it is.
