• I can read posts by others, I can comment on them, but I can’t like either on MOST sites. I used to be able to like them on my Android phone but not my desktop. Now I can’t do it on either. Maybe I need to logout from WordPress and log back in? But then I’m not sure which site is which. The one that features the WordPress reader or another. I don’t WANT to be forced to only like posts on blogs I follow; rather any and all.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • If it is a Like button that you are talking about, that has nothing to do with WordPress.
The Like button is Facebook, and there are many plugins that integrate it into a WordPress site, and there are others that mimic it but don’t send data to Facebook.
It is likely that it worked on your phone because you were always logged in to Facebook there.
Being logged in to www.remarpro.com will not affect your interactions with other sites.
How wordpress.com works is a question for them, not here.

There may be a Like button on Facebook as well, but the one on WordPress has been around for a very long time. It’s a regular feature. Just look at WordPress blogs by many people. We’re not talking about a Facebook like–but a WordPress post or comment like

I whitelisted accepting cookies from wordpress.com and jetpack. That seems to have cured the issue of likes on my desktop.

Can’t like on my Android phone however. There is no obvious way to accept cookies on the phone using Chrome.

Hi swjack14, I installed Jetpack to be able to “like” posts by people who are on WP. Either on my laptop (Mac) or iPhone I would click “Like” then a pop up to log into my WP.com account (not my WP.org account) would come up. I’d log in then the Like would show up on the person’s page. All of a sudden it isn’t working. I log in, but am not shown as Liking the post. Was your situation similar? I’ll go figure out what whitelisting accepting cookies is all about!
