    To whom it may concern,
I believe I don’t need to add anymore negativity of being forced to use gutenberg as many others have done enough. I just wanna post a strange thing happens when I’m trying to use or switch the editor.

I’ve tried both WP 5.0 and 5.0.1 version, in a real server and a local environment, using the latest php and mysql configurations. The result is always the same when it comes to use the editor function:

If I click the “add new” post or edit an existing post, or any other pages that will trigger the editor function, WP just shows me a blank page, nothing else, no loading or waiting for response hints. I can’t open the editor interface, and those plugins are unable to switch the editor.

I got stuck by this issue till today, after I installed the gutenberg plugin, amazing thing happens! I can open the editor interface!!, and those switching plugins suddenly work!! So any experts here can explain that? If I uninstall the gutenberg plugin, the issue arises again. WP you really freak me out sometimes.

  • It sounds like you have a plugin or theme that was coded to work with the beta version of the editor included in the Gutenberg plugin, but has not been updated to support the final version included in WordPress itself.

Disable the Gutenberg plugin (for now), an make sure all your plugins are up-to-date, and if the issue still occurs start disabling them one by one until the editor works. If it starts working then the last plugin you disabled is likely responsible for the issue, and you’ll need to contact its author, or leave it disabled.

In my case it was a firewall problem,

    for example: /wp-includes/js/tinymce/tinymce.min.js returned 500
