    As of this morning, I am receiving the following error on https://www.n1fd.org when I run a Test System command from the likebtn admin –

    https://wv.likebtn.com/w/v/1/1 is not available from your server: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 5000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

    I also do not see the LikeBtn on several but not all pages on my site. I have not changed any other settings on my site or the supporting CDN. Can you tell me what is wrong?

  • True @akstities. I’m 16 and just completed my first big project for a client (a YouTuber who wanted a site so fans can vote and stuff). Got this project via a acquaintance. I’m not [redacted] on this plugin or dev. It handled 100k votes (in a week) perfectly and they also provided support and 30% discount too. But now all the vote buttons are gone. I mean the client is super chill and sorta gets it but I’m embarrassed and think I look like an idiot because it’s been a week since the site was launched and traffic is high. Had to replace with some “under maintenance” now. Now I’m worried that this awesome plugin will have more downtimes and more than that what I’ll do if these guys discontinue their service(I have no idea what other plugin does same function –esp shortcode to enter boxes everywhere– or how to write custom plugin , if I have to what tech do I have to use). I’m really anxious about this whole ordeal. Hopefully everything gets sorted by tomorrow morning when I wake up. Sorry for my rant but I had to , super nervous.

    Hi,

    We are aware of the existing problem and have already taken all possible measures to solve it.
    Unfortunately, the problem is on the side of our hosting provider and we have to wait for the solution together with you. Please, treat with understanding and patience to this situation.
    Sorry for inconveniences.

    @likebtn Support

    Thanks for the update. As you’ve seen, many of us are seeking answers that we can provide to users of the sites we manage. Whatever you can update us with, even if it’s just to let us know that you are continuing to work on resolution is helpful. Thanks!

    Do you have any estimated time-frame? What has your hosting provider for the plugin told you? This is a serious situation especially for those of us who have paid for the premium version. Also do you have long term contingency plans in case something even worse happens and all of our like data is somehow lost due to hosting or any other issues? Some things to think about.

    @kosmicbird All excellent questions. I would also like those answers.

    I JUST purchased a subscription to this
    Just bought the membership
    purchased a paid subscription yesterday

    Unfortunately, For those of you in the above category, the author cannot support you here. For pro or commercial product support please contact the author directly on their site:

    https://likebtn.com/en/

    As the author is aware, commercial products are not supported in these forums.

    @bdbrown Really? This issue affects both premium (commercial) as well as freemium users, so I think it should certainly be supported here as well as via premium user channels.

    When I emailed them they said this among other things:

    Approximate time of solving the issue is one day.

    This was around 8 hours ago. So I guess it’ll be fixed soon. Thank god they told the time. I can now discuss and plan with my client.

    @taarushv Thanks for sharing that!

    Didn’t fix it yet ?? I’m going to have to have a awkward and embarrassing conversation with my client phew!

    Folks, has anyone heard anything via a support@likebtn email? I heard something Tuesday, but nothing since. Sent one today. Also contacted LikeBTN host – DIgital Ocean. Here is the status board – status.digitalocean.com. It says everything is up and running.

    I’m starting to feel a bit scammed here. Never heard of a service being down a week due to a hosting provider.

    Anyone else, premium members, concerned about this?

    Please advise.

    @edtrainer I got a response Wednesday from them that said in part, “We are aware of the existing problem and have already taken all possible measures to solve it.
    Unfortunately, the problem is on the side of our hosting provider and we have to wait for the solution together with you. Please, treat with understanding and patience to this situation.”

    I’ve not received anything since then. I did request an update yesterday on the issue but no new yet. I am also concerned and waiting…

    @edtrainer @akstites I don’t think this is a scam tho. This is a fairly popular plugin running smoothly for 4 years (I can’t seem to find incidents like this in the past,so fair to assume this is the first time). So I don’t see why a developer would want to scam when they have a legit product.

    That being said the lack of transparency and generic replies are starting to hit the nerve for me. I understand that a issue has arised and the developer has to do what he’s got to do to fix. I understand that if it’s going to take a week because there’s nothing we can do but to hope that the developer is putting his best efforts. BUT tell us it will take a week. KEEP us updated on what’s happening and how much work is completed/left. So we could show our clients the same so we don’t look like lazy people who won’t fix stuff in the eyes of client. Please make extra effort to update and fix this. This is just as much trouble for us and our clients as it’s to you. I sincerely hope this awesome plugin comes back to life again and make the voting function on my website easier <3

    Here’s something they posted on Twitter two days ago. At least it’s a bit more focused.

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/geoffreyngrace">@geoffreyngrace</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/likebtn">@likebtn</a> same. They told me they are having a trouble at their end. I'm guessing we have to wait. Hope they fix asap <a href="https://t.co/jw09nLtROh">pic.twitter.com/jw09nLtROh</a></p>&mdash; Taarush (@taarushv) <a href="https://twitter.com/taarushv/status/849551812487249921">April 5, 2017</a></blockquote>
