• I have a handful of forms at https://www.simsportsglobal.com (–>Account–>Sign-Ups), and they’ve all worked perfectly until this week. Now, suddenly people are getting errors when trying to submit a contact form:

  • Not being the plugin author, I can’t say if this is a known issue, but I can assure you, that CF7 is working in at least my test-installation of WordPress 4.7.

If you are experiencing severe problems on you production site, and you updated to WordPresss 4.7, one approach might be to restore a working WP 4.6 backup and then, on a separate test site, test each plugin individually until you identify the plugin (if any) causing the problem.

I tried creating a fresh instance of a contact form, but it has the same issue. Not sure what is causing this to suddenly not work after working for 2 years.

Thanks for the response–I don’t think there’s much I can do to fix this on my end. Hopefully I hear something else over the weekend.

Is there any way a developer of this mod could give us a hand? I’m happy to grant them access to our dashboard if it helps–it’s probably something very minor, but I’m not sure what it is as these have always worked up until recently and I haven’t touched them.

I’m not the developer of CF7 but I have some experience with it…

First, have you read the FAQ regarding the error?
    https://contactform7.com/faq/after-submitting-the-form-i-get-an-error-message/

Are you able to reproduce the error?

Have you setup mail according to best practices?

Last, when suspecting a plugin, its a good idea to disable all other plugins and switch to standard “twenty-something” theme. Preferably on a clone of the live site if you want to avoid downtime. You should be able to eliminate other causes your problems that way, doing the initial steps of troubleshooting yourself.

    Good luck

I heard back from my hosting site (reply below), and they are saying it is an issue with the plugin or at least its configuration?

Can someone help me from this point? It used to work so great, and oddly enough, some of them ARE working, while others are not. For instance, “MLB The Show” seems to work, but “College Football” do not.

Thank you for your replication steps, I was able to replicate the problem. It seems the mail script is encountering an issue with the reply-to address when attempting to authenticate. I found this error in apache logs from my test run.

    [Mon Jan 09 11:08:51 2017] [warn] [client 173.227.74.5] mod_fcgid: stderr: ERROR PostmanWpMail: Exception code=0 message=Invalid “Reply-To” e-mail address “[[email protected]]”, referer: https://simsportsglobal.com/?page_id=429

It appears send mail is working fine on the server and the only problem stopping the script from working properly is a possible mis configuration of the code/configuration of the script. Unfortunately as configuration/coding of a script is beyond our scope of support, we will be unable to assist you with the resolution on this issue.

If you encounter any further issues with anything else or have some questions/concerns with this, feel free to reach out for assistance.

Can you upload a screenshot of the Mail tab here?

Remove the brackets? I’ll give that a try.
