Like counters 0 after moving website

While the site’s domain didn’t change, the site’s URL structure changed.

The best advice is immediately to switch back to the old URL structure, so you can keep your share counts and fix external dead links and SEO.

Otherwise you’ll want to look into redirecting the old URLs and satisfying Facebook’s onerous requirements for preserving share counts. Resolving and maintaining these issues will entail some custom coding work that varies from site to site, so it’s highly advisable to simply keep your permalinks permanent.

The site’s protocol was also upgraded from http to https, and Facebook considers both to be unique URLs. The http page has counts; https has none so far:

Per Facebook’s onerous requirements mentioned earlier, you’ll need to add a “meta tag” to your pages and allow Facebook’s crawler exclusive access to your old http pages.

For the meta tag, find a way to dynamically add the og:url meta tag to your pages to point at the old http site. You’ll do this either through your theme, or most likely a plugin that manages meta tags (such as some SEO plugins).

You’ll want to look into how to keep redirecting old http pages to https while allowing Facebook’s crawler access to the old pages, which is an absurd requirement for publishers, but hopefully your new host SiteGround can help you out there.

Installed Yoast, and a FB ID, when debugging, no error anymore, but still no likes are shown ?

is showing 3 likes when debugged via FB developer,
