Like button 'Loading…'

    I have enabled the new ‘Like’ button for my posts. When I view the post (both as a registered user and as a anonymous user) the button appears greyed out with the text ‘Loading…’ next to it.

    Firebug code reports the following:

    I can replicate this using Firefox and Chrome.
    WordPress has W3 Total Cache (with Amazon CDN) enabled, and Bulletproof Security.

    What theme are you running? Mine is a GoodLayers theme (The Gallery).
    Also, what plugins have you got installed? There might be something we’re both running that is causing this.

    My theme is Elemine and I’ve installed only Jetpack 2.2

    I had activated the gravatar-like plugin, but I deleted it as soon as I installed Jetpack.
    (My english is not good, sorry)

    Mine’s working in TwentyTen (with a child theme) and the Likes show up in the Notifications like they sued to on the .com version.

    @thghostinnkeeper I had a look at your site, and it seems that your theme doesn’t include any closing </body> and </html> tags. Could you fix your theme, and let me know if that helps?

    I’ve checked: the tags are present – in the file footer.php
    Maybe the problem is in the single.php
    I’ll try to verify. However, everything works fine – except the button.

    I’m experiencing the same issue with the Like button greyed out and showing only, “Loading …” The issue is intermittent. Some pages show the Like “loading..” , others display the Like button properly.

    I have confirmed that our theme (using Avada theme) does have the closing </body> and </html> tags in place.

    This LIKE feature is a fantastic plus – sure would like to get it working properly. Any feedback is much appreciated.

    I thought I read somewhere it was supposed to be working, but it isn’t. Maybe it’s a future thing.

    Problem solved!… At least, so it seems.
    I deactivated Jetapack. Then I turned off my theme (Elemin) and I chose another one (Twenty Twelve). I checked the button “Like this” was in place. Then I deactivated Twenty twelve and I reactivated Elemin.
    Now the Like button works.

    Mine work for post, but in my separate video section of theme is says loading constantly

    Same issue. Cannot get the Likes button to work. I have also checked that I have both the body and html closing tags.

    @pawparazzo It seems you have managed to solve the issue; I was able to Like both of the pages you linked to in your latest post.

    @notawoodpecker Your posts will be included in the WordPress.com Reader, if WordPress.com users subscribe to your site. But your posts won’t appear in the Topic Pages, since these pages only list WordPress.com posts.

    @mortenandersen The Likes module doesn’t seem to be active on your site at the moment. Could you try to go to the Jetpack menu, and activate the module?

    @jeremy Herve: Thanks for the feedback – but – oddly, I am still seeing the “Like Loading..” on the one page that we listed above. When you indicated that you were able to LIKE both those links, I thought perhaps it was a browser issue (Was using Safari 6.0.2) .. so tried it on FireFox and Chrome – but no joy – the LIKE still indicates Loading..

    I see that you were able to LIKE the other page that did load properly, but the problem page does not show your “Like” and still displays “Loading..” for us. Strange indeed.

    @pawparazzo Although I can click the Like button, when I reload the page my Like disappears. Strange… Could you try to disable all cache plugins on your site, and let me know if it helps?

    @tfindley Could you also try to disable your cache plugins?

    I noticed that both of you use CloudFront to serve some of the resources on your site, and I wonder if that could be what’s causing the problem.
