Is there not a current and up to date plugin that will simply notify a user when their comment has been approved?

I have a website that provides useful information. As a result, the Comments section of my posts are popular with my reader’s to ask questions in which I respond. It’s a very popular section of my posts for readers to get information as well. It is not used for readers to comment with each other.

In the past I had used the Comment Approved plugin, but it is out of date and no longer supported. I recently tried the Comment Approved Notifier Extended, but it does not work and seems to be out of date as well.

I still find it hard to believe that WordPress does not provide this simple option in their framework.

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the help. I had found that plugin, but it’s loaded with features I do not need. My experience with feature loaded plugins is that they are not that lightweight. That is why I was looking for something much more simple. However, it may be my only option.

Sure, happy to help anytime. Thats what the forum is here for!

For what you are looking to do I would not worry too much about lightweight. I categorize the type of plugin you are looking for as an Administrative assistance plugin. These types of plugins only run when the system tells them to and tend to have a lot of features but the only thing that will run is the trigger for the notification you setup therefore the bloated feature set is not something to really concern yourself with! Hopefully that makes sense.
