Lightbox w/ latest version

  • I recently updated to the latest version of this theme on the above-referenced website.

    Neither Gutenberg, nor any other Gutenberg-related plugin is installed.

    It appears that Avant has incorporated Gutenberg blocks into its core functionality. At least when I create a post/page, that’s what the UI looks like to me.

    The blocks functionality allows insertion of an image gallery.

    Problem: Lightbox plugins don’t work with this new blocks functionality. For anyone working in arts, being able to have viewers go to a larger version of an image via a lightbox is crucial.

    Question: Is there a workaround for having lightbox functionality with the latest version of the Avant theme? If not, is there a way to revert to the previous version of the Avant theme? Or do I have to completely change the site in its entirety.

    The new blocks approach is complete and utter crap.

    I’ve discovered the answer. In order for a lightbox plugin to work, the Gallery Block must explicitly be set with the Link to attribute to Media page. This wasn’t necessary in the past, it happened automatically.
