Lightbox not working

I ran into the same issue yesterday on a site. Try clearing your browser cache.

I’ve had the same issue since version 6.3.4 and solved it through MaxGalleria settings.

Up to version 6.3.3 the value for “Thumbnail click opens” in both the default options settings for MaxGalleria and in each defined gallery’s options settings could be set to “Lightbox image” and site visitors clicking a thumbnail in a gallery would have the lightbox experience (nice overlay, greyed-out beneath, navigation buttons).

After 6.3.3 a value of “Lightbox image” for “Thumbnail click opens” gives the experience as described above – a picture, no lightbox and no navigation buttons with the escape being either a page refresh or using the browser ‘back’ button.

Setting the gallery’s option “Thumbnail click opens” to “Open link in lightbox” restores the desired lightbox experience (nice overlay, greyed-out beneath, navigation buttons). Setting the same value in MaxGalleria’s default options makes no difference whatsoever – you need to change the setting in each gallery’s options to affect behaviour.

I’m using 6.3.6 and experiencing the same issues. I changed the “Thumbnail click opens” to “Open link in lightbox”, saved, cleared the website and local caches and it still does not work for me.

I’ve turned off my caching plugins, I don’t see any erros in the console. Not sure what else to do?

Can you post a link to the page with the gallery?

@huwcts is correct in what he posted. I just saw these messages and went into one of my galleries and set it in the gallery itself and it corrected that gallery. The close button is hard to see, but the lightbox is working again. Thank you for the solution!
