Previously, to use the FooBox lightbox, I’d go to Options> Effects and set JavaScript Thumbnail effect to None.

In 2.0 I’m looking under Other Options> Lightbox Effects, and in the drop down menu there is no None option. Since one has to be selected, then both the FooBox and the NextGen lightboxes launch, one atop the other, when clicking on a gallery image.

I found a workaround; just deleted all the code for one of the effects under the Advanced Settings, though this is not ideal. Any chance you can add the None option back in?

I recently purchased FooBox for its social sharing feature and very much want to use it. I’d prefer to have a cleaner solution! Or am I missing some existing option to set this up properly, without a hack?!

    Thanks!

@britt77: Good call. I’ll add a feature request for this and get it on our list. That would be useful to have back. Good job finding a solution for it.

Since you have a short-term solution, and the long term solution is now on our issue list, I’m going to mark this as complete. Even so, feel free to let us know if you have other questions on this.

    Thanks,

Many thank, Erick, for the speedy response! And more gratitude in advance for a forthcoming fix. ??

this is exactly what i needed can u show me where and what code you deleted or an example by chance?

i went to advanced option under “highslide”. deleted everything, saved, and nothing happened other than the fact the code was gone. do i delete it from the plugin file or am i doing something wrong in general.

Go to Other Options> Lightbox Effects. Pick a selection from the drop down menu (I don’t think it matters which) and click on Advanced Settings to see the code for that particular effect. Then delete the code in each of the three fields so all are blank. Save it, and as long as you set your FooBox settings to work with NGG, you should be good to go.

Ok. I hope this works. It is still reading the title of the lightbox effect” highslide” in which I deleted all of the code.

    Is this normal?

I have the Foobox setting enabled however, I still cant select the lightbox effect in nextgen. Maybe I’m missing something.

What exactly is reading the title of the highlisde effect? The Lightbox Effects drop down options? If so, yes, this is “normal”. NGG no longer has the None option for the Lightbox effect (which is necessary to let the FooBox Lightbox take effect without conflicting with the NGG Lightbox), so you have to choose one, but if you have FooBox enabled, then both Lightbox effects work at the same time. By deleting the code for the NGG Lightbox you have selected, you keep the NGG Lightbox from launching, leaving you with only the FooBox Lightbox.

This is just a hack until the None option returns, so it’s not entirely user friendly, but it should get FooBox displaying correctly at least.

    did it!…i think lol

Hello, interesting thread, I found the same “double” lightbox effect problem using NextGen and Social Gallery.
Deleted the code of the selected lightbox effect and now seems to work.

    Thank you!

ps: actually to add the None option would be of great help ??

Thanks for this. Was just about to mail the FooBox support team.

Very surprising that NextGen did not pick this up as they heavily pushed FooBox!
