Lightbox images not loading

Did you try to de-activate all plugins except the Mesmerize Companion and re-check your page with the issue?

This seems to be a plugin related issue.

I did try deactivating all plugins – and I did it again after your reply, just to make sure – and still with everything deactivated (except the Mesmerize Companion) the lightbox doesn’t display the images.

I cleared the theme cache and regenerated all thumbnails and images, and still the lightbox opens but doesn’t display an image.

I checked with Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers, same results in both.

The lightbox doesn’t work when Jetpack is disabled – the images are unclickable unless set to media or attachment page, but then the images won’t open in a lightbox.

I have temporarily installed Twenty Seventeen, (2) Site Origin themes, Astra (Brainstorm Force) and the lightbox worked if Jetpack was active.

I tried installing Highlight (extend themes), and I tried Mesmerize without a Child Theme/no custom CSS, I tried reinstalling Mesmerize, and still the lightbox did not work, whether Jetpack was active or not.

The lightbox itself opens up; the specific issue is that the images do not populate.

I’ve tried setting the gallery image links to NONE, to Media File, and to Attachment Page, none of which have worked in the Mesmerize theme to fix the lightbox.

The Lightbox works with all the other themes I’ve tried, but I detest them.

It seems you are using Hummingbird as a caching plugin.

Did you also deactivate it?

If not can you try to deactivate it to see if it solves the issue?

I deactivated the caching function, then deactivated the plugin and then deleted Hummingbird.

?? Neither of three worked so I’ve reinstalled Hummingbird.

As per your first message, I deactivated every plugin (cleared the caches) except for Mesmerize companion, and there was no change to the lightbox.

If I change the theme, for example to Twenty Twenty or even Twenty Seventeen, the lightbox will display the image without issue no matter how many plugins are active.

If I change the theme to another Mesmerize theme, the lightbox goes back to a white screen and only shows the thumbnails, not the enlarged image.

I’m a WP newbie, but I don’t think it’s a plugin issue but a theme conflict. ??

Can you keep the Hummingbird plugin deactivated so I can check your page?

Also please make sure the lightbox is working so I it opens the images.
