    Anyone?

    I’m new to NextGen galleries too and would like this answered too. I was using the Gallery plugin which uses fancybox and at least displays the lightbox images although not at full screen. I thoiught I would try NextGen as it seemed to promise lightbox and another feature I needed.
    Is it possible that we need to install a lightbox plugin of some sort too for this to work?

    I have found the default Basic Slideshow is almost what I am looking for with thumbnails set to show first in gallery options and integrate slideshow unticked so there is no temptation for users to open the slideshow in a new page.
    Don’t know if this helps.
    I also set my Image Settings to 960×960 (which is the maximum image size I want). In one of my galleries I have a landscape scene which is only 640×427 in actual size so that is the size the slideshow displays. I also have a portrait image which is 872×1226 so i believe it is displaying at 682×960 (maintaining aspect ratio). I deliberately created this strange image size to see first if I could have the thumbnail display in proper proportion (Options Thumbnails set as 100×100 with ignore aspect ratio unticked) and that worked, then secondly to make my images display as large as possible in the slideshow.
    There is not fancy transition effect or bordering of the images in the slideshow but I suspect making changes in the style css may produce different effects.

    Hmm, I still can’t get it to work for me.

    Is there a way to have my current image link to a gallery (ideally in a lightbox setup) when its clicked on? It seems like such a simple task and its nothing but complicated…

    Can anyone help me? This is pretty much the last thing I need to do to the site. It seems super simple and is used on a lot of website, I just can’t get this gallery script to do it.

    This current page shows a single image in the lightbox (when clicking Living Rooms Image)….I want it to show a gallery. https://zsuttonphoto.com/CarolHomeStaging/galleries/before-after/

    <div class="art-content-layout">
    <div class="art-content-layout-row">
    <div class="art-layout-cell" style="width: 50%;">
    <h4 style="text-align: center;">Living / Dining Rooms
    <a class="thickbox" href="https://zsuttonphoto.com/CarolHomeStaging/wp-content/gallery/ba-living/lr1b.jpg"><img alt="" src="https://zsuttonphoto.com/CarolHomeStaging/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/BA-LivDin.jpg" width="350" height="233" /></a></h4>
    </div>

    If you upgrade to ver 2, select Lightbox under Effects … other similar effects also available

    I suspect V 2.0 will only make things worse as it appears they have incorporated their own lightbox by default.
    Taking another perspective, I started another (very amateur) thread about having multiple galleries on a single page and only single images to initiate the slideshow for each gallery. Unfortunately it seems as if everything is now being swamped by issues with V 2.0.

    I am interested in the before and after drag handle effect in your living/dining room page, where does it come from?

    I updated to NextGEN 2.0 and like most everyone else, it broke my site entirely.

    Is there someone out there who can help me with this little issue? It seems like such a practical feature, but all its left me is confused with its complexity.

    Is there a way to directly link to a NextGEN gallery in html code? Cause thats all I really need it to do.

    If that doesnt work, can someone suggest a gallery plugin that might better suit my needs?

    I’m not sure if this may be a suitable alternative https://highslide.com/ they have a WordPress installation process and all thoiugh its a $29 licence for a single commercial site they have what they call mini-galleries which launch from a single image in the page and you can have multiples in the page. Its a java script environment that you might find adaptable

    Hi all – lightboxes are actually packaged within NextGEN 1.9.13 and earlier as well. In all cases you should just be able to go to the options tabs with the lightbox options, select a lightbox, save, and it works.

    In much older versions of NextGEN, you’d have to upload the lightbox plugin, then select it from the dropdown,

    But you shouldn’t have to add any special code to get lightboxes to work.

    If I’m misunderstanding the question or if your lightbox effects aren’t working in 1.9.13 or 2.0, let us know.

    Thanks,
    Erick

    I’m sorry I seem to have muddied the water.

    This is Sutton74’s issue and as he says

    Is there a way to directly link to a NextGEN gallery in html code? Cause thats all I really need it to do.

    The effect I personally am looking for is to use a link outside the gallery page to launch a lightbox/slideshow similar to this https://highslide.com/examples/mini-galleries.html with the added possibility of using a larger image as the link object or alternatively a text link.

    photocrati –
    I want something that allows me to link to a gallery in a lightbox function. I essentially want a single images 350×233 pixels, and when clicked on it opens a gallery in a lightbox.

    I don’t think this can be done with NextGen, correct? Everytime I try to use it, it implements a bunch of thumbnails

    @sutton74 here is a quote from the FAQ for Lightbox Gallery plugin

    How can I handle multiple galleries in one page as separate ones?

    If you would like to handle galleries separately, add different class names into [gallery]. ex) [gallery class="gallery2"]

    I’m sorry to keep “butting in” – with your site so near to completion I am now keen to see the final result.

    I really appreciate your input pawriter.

    I’m still not convinced that Lightbox gallery is what I need, as it still works in conjunction with NextGen Gallery. I do like the lightbox features from it though.

    I essentially need something that allows me to link one standalone image to a gallery. And when that gallery loads, it loads in lightbox (I think I can code that as long as I get the former working).
