    Hello,

there is a problem with the new wordpress 6.4 lightbox option. When the plugin is activated and I try to use some pages with Gutenberg, the lightbox doesn’t work.

Glad to help. If the lightbox thing is a Gutenberg feature, it’s probably not going to work when Disable Gutenberg is enabled. Because Disable Gutenberg disables Gutenberg/block functionality. Nonetheless if you can provide basic steps to repeat the issue on default WordPress, I can take a look and try to resolve any issue asap, thank you.

I mean I use the plugin only on some pages using the “disable Gutenberg for post IDs” option. Then when I create a new page with Gutenberg, all other Gutenberg options and blocks work perfectly fine except the new lightbox core option in WordPress 6.4

Yeah that’s all fine and good. In order for me to investigate anything though, I need some steps to follow to get to the issue on default WordPress. Let me know if any questions about this.

Hi @hganev, just wanted to follow up with this. It’s been a while with no reply, so I hope the issue is resolved? Or if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. Thank you.

Hi, the lightbox is still not working. Maybe I have to explain it again.

Let’s say I have three pages on my blog 1,2,3 with Disable Gutenberg plugin activated but I decide to use Gutenberg on page 2 only. Then I use the Disable Post IDs option for pages 1 and 3 and I have full Gutenberg editor on page 2.

However, all other Gutenberg options work fine on page 2 except the new core lightbox option since WordPress version 6.4.

The settings configuration makes sense, thanks. For the lightbox option, I’m not recalling hearing anything about it. Can you let me know how to access that feature, is it just a block or added automatically when you include an image? Let me know the actual steps to repeat the issue on default WP would really be useful. Thank you.

It’s a new option for the image block, not activated by default. For every added image you can activate lightbox manually. It’s called “expand on click” and you can find it right above the image block advanced settings.

Okay thanks. So using latest WordPress and DG plugin, I enabled Gutenberg on one page only, disabled for the other two. Then added an image, enabled “Expand on click”, and visited the post on the front-end. Then clicking the image, it does the lightbox/popup thing.

One thing I noticed, is that the plugin setting, “Enable Frontend” must be enabled for the lightbox to display properly. So definitely check that setting, located under the “More Tools” options.

It works with “enable frontend”. Thanks a lot!
