Lightbox alternative – pinch to zoom?

Currently I’m using Lightbox for a website I use to exhibit photographs, this of course is fine on a computer but the moment someone uses it on a tablet the first thing they do is try to zoom in on the image with their fingers. This immediately freezes up the page and naturally leaves people so irritated they just dump the site and look elsewhere.
Therefore can anyone suggest a new plugin which would allow ‘pinching’ of the images for ipads,smart phones, tablets etc.
