Lightbox 2 Slideshow feature

Is there a way to turn on the slide show feature in the Lightbox 2 plugin? I tried replacing the .js and .css files as you would outside of WordPress (https://www.justinbarkhuff.com/lab/lightbox_slideshow/#configurations) and it just broke slideshow 2.
Perhaps this is considered upgrading to Lightbox Slideshow. I don’t know.Any help would be appreciated.
