    Hi molecule,

I just took a look at your scorm module. Is it possible that the ispringsolution modules somehow handle their state internally? I think the module never even uses the scorm api on the page to set any scorm parameters. I tried a scorm 1.2 module that is not from ispringsolutions and that one sets the parameters normally. What makes me think that it handles the parameters on its own is that you can resume the module once you’ve closed it but there’s no scorm parameter with the resume data present in our scorm parameters.

Maybe you could check if there is some kind of export setting when you’re creating the module that configures the way the module handles the scorm parameters or the scorm api?

Yes there are some settings: https://www.ispringsolutions.com/articles/create-learning-course-with-ispring

    SCORM 1.2
Reports a single status to the LMS based on both presentation slide views and Quiz grades. Default status is Passed/Failed, but can be customized (for example, Complete/Incomplete, Complete/Failed and Passed/Incomplete).

Ok, so I took another look and as far as I can see this looks like a problem with the module. The module does actually find the lms api and the connection and everything is initialized, but the module does never actually set any scorm parameters. The progress for scorm modules is based on the data the module provides and because it never actually sets any parameters there is no progress to save.
The module does save it’s own progress though, but it does so within the browser’s localStorage, that’s why one can resume the modules without it ever setting the resume data through the lms. It even submits data, but it only sends it to your mailserver.

    Thank you for your time

I’m now in contact with the creator to get more infos and they asked me:

“Does your LMS provide SCORM API wrapper or xAPI-compliant LRS for tracking courses and statistics storage? Our SCORM courses are created according SCORM standards, they connect directly to the LMS API wrapper.”

    Hello molecule1,

yes, we do provide a wrapper. It’s weird, so far all the modules we tested have worked, not sure what’s going on here. Maybe you could get them to reach out to us?
