I have installed LifterLMS on my WordPress site. LifterLMS pages pull right-hand content from the main site’s widgets.

My webmaster wrote some CSS code to stop this and it works on the Lessons that were already populated. But each time I add a new Lesson the new pages pull content from the main site.

How do I stop the LifterLMS pages from doing this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @pranadacom,

Unfortunately, your site locks the lessons page (which is expected), so I’m not entirely sure what it looks like on the lesson page!

Could you, please, attach a screenshot? You will have to use a service (Dropbox, Drive, Imgur, CloudUp, etc…) to post a link to your screenshot.

However, this may be a theme issue. Can you tell us what theme you’re using? There may be a setting where you can set the theme to not display the sidebar on certain post types like pages. I know that themes like Divi, Astra, and OceanWP have these settings built into the page editor.

This could also have to do with the Lessons Sidebar under Appearance->Widgets on the backend. If there is a widget I the Lessons Sidebar that pulls from main site information, that could be what’s added to each lesson page.

If you can provide us with more information on the theme and screenshots that would help us give a more in-depth answer!

Let us know if you have any further questions!

    Thanks and take care,

Here is a screen shot of a new lesson page. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pqruir6b1h5qrfj/LifterLMS.PNG?dl=0

You’ll notice that the LifterLMS right-hand menus are pulling onto the page, but only after the page pulls the right-hand menus from the rest of the site. I need a global fix so that this doesn’t occur when I add lessons or add another course.

    I’m using the theme OutreachPro.

    Thanks,

    Hi @pranadacom,

Were you able to see if there were widgets added to the Lesson Side bar on the backend (under Appearance->Widgets) that could be contributing to this? That is the most likely cause.

However, if there’s nothing there, it’s likely the theme is incompatible with LifterLMS so it’s reading the lessons page as a “regular” page and adding the extra menu. You could add some custom CSS that hides it, though it would have to get down to the specific page type (not just the lesson id) so that it will hide on all future lessons. We have some information on finding the right CSS selector here: https://lifterlms.com/docs/css-structure/

You could also try LifterLMS Labs: https://lifterlms.com/docs/getting-started-lifterlms-labs/ the Super Sidebar Lab: https://lifterlms.com/docs/super-sidebars-lab/ it’s designed to get LifterLMS sidebars working with different themes that don’t necessarily declare support for LifterLMS!

Another option may be to get in contact with the theme developers! They would be the best source of information on how their theme reads each page and how to edit the side bar properly.

Please let us know if you have any further questions!

    Thanks and take care,

    Thanks Natalie,

I am using Astra theme, a very classic one, and it used to work really well with LifterLMS.

Something probably happened and I can’t even edit the page “courses”, also there nothing is displaying, even not the standard control features of a page.

I tried to turn off certain plugins that might cause and an issue with it, but without success.

Can you please confirm that there are no known issues with Astra?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards,

    Jo?l

    @joelvc,

I am not aware of any issues with Astra. We love Astra, promote it, and work closely with the devs to ensure LifterLMS is fully compatible.

Have you double checked your sidebars to ensure that the “Lesson Sidebar” doesn’t have the widgets you’re seeing here? By default Astra pulls in lesson sidebar widgets on a lesson so my guess is that you’ve accidentally added some widgets to the lesson sidebar that you don’t want there.

Let me know if that helps,
