    Hi,

we are configuring LifterLMS and trying to get registration right.

Presently, the registration form shown in the “My Courses” page to non-logged in users asks for First, Last name, Email and Password followed by another form asking First, Last name (again), and also Address, Phone, with all fields marked “required”. I don’t want to ask users that information.

The problem is that in Dashboard > LifterLMS > Settings > Accounts > “Require Billing Address on user registration” is unchecked. I have tried checking and unchecking it (and saving), but the registration form still asks for address.

Is there something I did wrong or can anyone confirm that this is a bug?

    Thanks!

  • Hey avladim,

Sorry you’re having difficulties here! Let’s try a few things to get your registration function right:

Do you have any other plugins installed that might modify, customize, or handle membership or registration? I’ve seen issues in the past with other plugins that do registration things causing conflicts for one reason or another in our registration form. If you’re uncertain, can you send me a copy of your system report (removing any information you’re not comfortable sharing publicly) — this way I can have a quick look through your theme and plugins to determine if there’s a conflict with any of them.

You can find out how to use the system report here: https://lifterlms.com/docs/how-to-use-the-lifterlms-system-report/

I’m starting here because in a clean WordPress install with no other plugins I cannot reproduce this issue so I’m pretty certain that the issue is related to a conflict.

If you’re site is in development (eg: not public) it might help to simply disable all your plugins that you think could cause a conflict with LifterLMS and see if the issue persists. You can then re-enable them one by one to find the conflict.

With the system report I’ll give this a shot for you and get you an answer (and hopefully solution) as soon as I can.

    Take care,

    Hey there alvadim,

Since I haven’t heard back from you in a week I’m going to mark this issue as resolved.

If you still require assistance please reopen the thread.

Thomas, thank you for your response! You did right by marking this as resolved. Indeed, the issue was caused by another membership plugin being installed (WP-Members).

Good to hear. If you’re interested in us coming up with a compatibility solution for the plugin please submit a feature request for compatibility at https://lifterlms.com/contact.

Have a great day and take care!
