    Hello

I have different levels of paid membership on my site, but I want to leave free access to users with a free account (level id = 1). For this level, I restrict access to 2 categories. It works well.

But, this level hides all other pages, articles, categories. The search results are not good and the content of the articles remains empty, while everything is displayed correctly in level 0 (unregistered visitor)

How to display the same content in level 0 and 1?
    Thank you

    Hi @olivgraphic,

How are you currently restricting your content?

I believe the only way to do this is to use the Paid Memberships Pro [membership] shortcode to restrict content within a page/post.

The short code allows you to open it to non registered and registered users.

Here is a link to the shortcode – https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/documentation/content-controls/with-shortcodes/

    I hope this helps! ??

Currently, I restrict content with category restriction.
I do not understand the logic of Pmpro, because unregistered users have access to more content than users registered in free.

What I want to do: give visibility to registered (free level) and unregistered to protect content (only title and excerpt, off course)

For example , in this page : https://la-boite-a-outils-du-ce.fr/actualites/les-flashs-actu-des-elus/actualites-comite-dentreprise/
, unregistred users can see the list of posts, but user logged can’t.

Sorry for my English, I’m French: D

    Thank you for the feedback.

That is no problem at all ?? I will try to simplify this as much as possible to assist you.

If a user is logged in but doesn’t have an active membership level experience the issues or is it if you have a membership level it’s not appearing for the user?

Could you tell me, as an example, if your posts are selected for all membership levels to access or only one or two?

I would suggest in taking a look at direct support from https://www.paidmembershipspro.com which is more in-depth support and their support team logs into your site to debug the issue further ??

    I hope this helps.

No: If a user is logged in but does not have a membership level, the protected content is hidden.

I understand that for the user not connected, all protected excerpts and titles are displayed (what I wish) .. But the user logged in free (and who has access 4 articles) can not see the excerpts and titles in my archive page !!! I want to display the excerpt and title for all !

    Thank you !!

    Hello,
I think we have found the reason for this behavior …

If I understand correctly, as soon as you are logged in, all posts in a protected category are hidden on the home page or on the archive page.

    https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/advanced-category-techniques-filtering-searches-archives-members-non-members/

And to change that behavior, i need to get a paying code … Do you think I can get it without subscribing to the annual PMPro plan which is rather expensive for a free plugin ??

    Thank you

    I just found the solution.

I thought that it was the behavior of the plugin that was involved, but it is a bug caused by the plugin “Paid Memberships Pro – bbPress Add On”: if it is activated and the user is logged in , all locked posts disappear from the archive.php pages and from the home page.

I finally disabled this plugin and still works correctly.

Maybe an update to the plugin will solve the problem?

I sincerely apologize for the delayed response.

Being a PMPro Plus or even core member is beneficial as the support staff are able to login to your site and assist you in customizing (to an extent), debugging and you get access to a lot of Plus add-ons (https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/add-ons/plus-add-ons/), unfortunately it goes against the www.remarpro.com terms and conditions to answer any pre-sale questions, however in my personal opinion it is worth it as you are paying for the support and some premium add-ons.

I will try and recreate this issue on my local environment and revert back.

Also by default PMPro should not hide protected posts but should show and show a register/login option for users.

Please can you ensure that the following settings are enabled:

    1. Under ‘Memberships’ > ‘Advanced Settings’
    2. Ensure ‘Filter searches and archives?’ is set to ‘No’

I have installed BBPress, PMPro BBPress add-on and some other PMPro add-ons, I’m unable to recreate the issue.

I would recommend in reaching out on the PMPro Members Forum on https://www.paidmembershipspro.com to receive more in-depth assistance from their support team as it seems that the issue you are experiencing is site specific.
