I have set up an only course with some dummy text for now. The course is linked to a product in my WooCommerce shop and guest orders are allowed as per this page: https://docs.themeum.com/tutor-lms/ecommerce/woocommerce/

But two obstacles come up for me:

    1) When I go through with an order for the course from a test user I don’t receive anything – is this expected as default? In other words, how should guest orders be handled? I expect that with existing users it would be simple and one can just send them a link to the course.

    2) I only have one course and thus don’t need an overview of different courses. But teachers should be able to buy x number of licenses at once. But how do I set this up? Preferably the student licenses should be linked to their school email and with the option to generate a password for themselves.

I checked the email inbox again now: I don’t get a confirmation of the purchase, only an email saying the order is received. The product currently costs zero – could this be the reason?

@munayam could you clear up these questions for me? This is very important for my project for me to move on. Thanks again for your previous answer ??

    Hello @superdep,

    1. If you are using free plugin then admin and students should receive three emails- two emails confirming the order number and one email after processing the order. The pro plugin send altogether 31 emails for various email events as shown in this image

    2. Tutor LMS was built and designed to help site admin to create a multi-instructors platform where instructors can create their own courses and earn revenue. Admin can earn commission from each course sale. Students on the other hand can enroll in any course published by any instructors. There is no license issuing concept supported. Students can sign up using the default students registration form and after enrolling and paying they can access course contents.

You can visit our documentation to find out more about specific Tutor LMS features, functions and how you can customize the plugin to meet your arbitrary requirements.

Thank you for the answer @munayam. This sounds very unfortunate for me, so I want to make sure I understand you correctly.

I simply need each teacher to let their students access the material which I put online. Could I set up something where the teachers just “share” my course and then let their students signup for this? And then I bill the teachers based on the number of students?

What I’m looking to do is really very simple since I only need 1 course. The only thing is I need to manage these licenses.

One guy in another forum suggested this:
“How many bulk sales do you expect to process? If not more than a dozen a week, you could easily just set up a contact form that collects the basics and school info, then process it manually on the back end for them.”

Could that be a solution? If they give me a list of emails, could I register a bunch of users at once?

It seems to me that something very simple should be enough to fix this (which should be a great addition to the LMS in general):
    1) Customer (teachers) buys a license
    2) Students sign up themselves and uses a code given by the teacher instead of paying – like a coupon covering the entire cost

    Hello @superdep,

Thank you for sharing your ideas. I shall share them with my dev team.

As of now Tutor LMS enables site admin to bill the teachers based on the number of courses being sold. Students can signup themselves using the default registration form. Admin can also manually enroll student to specific course which removes the burden of which student shall enroll in which course but this feature is not included in the free version.

Students can visit course archive page to view all the courses published by multiple instructors. They can then click on a single instructor’s name to view all the courses published by him/her from his/her profile/bio page.

Thanks for reading my suggestion and passing it on.

In my specific case, do you see any best way to move forward? I would like to stay with Tutor LMS if I can instead of moving to a different system.

Could teachers send me a list of all the student emails for me to then create users and enroll each one in the course?

    Hello @superdep,

Instructors don’t have access to admin features/functions. Only admin can manually enroll students one by one to individual courses after adding them as WordPress users. This manual enrollment feature is not included with the free plugin. You can read more about this feature from our documentation

    Thanks again for answering me.

Unfortunately, I must leave your plugin then and move on.
