If I’m using Letsencrypt certbot in Apache and successfully get a certificate via Terminal commands, what does Really Simple SSL need in order to find these certificates? As it is now, it’s like nothing is found in WordPress 5.2 running in Apache 2.4 in Ubuntu 18. RS SSL complains no certs are found.

I don’t see a way to point RS SSL to the proper directory. What is RS SSL reading for the path to these?

    Hi,

you can specify the location of your certificates in the Apache configuration. Really Simple SSL will automatically detect the certificates your webserver uses.

Yes, I also encountered the fact that I need a wildcard cert to take care of “www”. Adding a redirect for that as an alternative.

My issue was likely also because I hadn’t opened port 443 on the server. So with a cert for “domain.com” (no “www”) and an open port I could serve with RS SSL. I’m going to recommend a Pro version to my client.

Thank you for the Google settings instructions. Great work!
