    Good day.

We are testing the courses in MasterStudy and lessons are appearing randomly:

    1. In one course test, when pressing start it jumps to Section 2 Lesson 4 instead of Section 1 Lesson 1
    2. From section 7 it jumps to section 9
    3. From section 8 it jumps to section 5

I’ve been looking into the general settings and course settings and I don’t find a setting for this or a solution for the issue.

I imagined that when you place the sections in order, the system will follow that order, but it’s not happening.

    I’m usint MasterStudy Starter theme.

    Could you help with this?

    Thank you

  • Hello, @guezs

We checked this case on our servers, but did not find this issue. We repeated all the conditions that you mentioned in the topic and demonstrated the correct operation of the plugin in the video:

    Link

Probably this case is caused by third-party software, which can affect the work of the sequence of lessons and sections. Please make sure you don’t have any third-party plugins installed that might affect the LMS by temporarily deactivating all third-party plugins and re-checking this case.

If you have the MasterStudy PRO plugin installed please make sure you don’t have the “Drip Content” addon enabled, where you can customize the sequence of lessons.

If none of the above helps, please let us know and we will continue to work with you to find the cause of this issue.

    Best regards.

    Good day.

    Thank you for the answer.

I have the essential plugins installed: Master Study LMS, Elementor, Elementor Header and Footer with Master Study theme.

I even deactivated Elementor and left only Master Study Theme and Master Study LMS and it’s still happening. I don’t have any drip content active.

I also deactivated the theme and left only the LMS with the default theme Twenty Twenty Three and same thing.

Navigation from section 8 last lesson heads to section 5 lesson 1 and section 5 last lesson has no next lesson, it seems to be the last one even when it’s correctly ordered as 5 in the index.

Please see the behaviour in the video with all plugins disabled: Link

    Hello @guezs,

    Sorry for delayed reply.

The lessons will be displayed in the order set in the course builder by default.

If you are using the Old course builder, please try resaving the course with the new Course builder and inform us if the issue continues.

Hi Eric, we are using the visual course builder (blue button “Edit with Course Builder”). I don’t know if there is a new one after this.

The order in the WordPress view (I guess that’s the old one) and the visual is the same.

I’m now watching the database trying to see what’s happening. I see that in the table “stm_lms_curriculum_sections” the column order is ok.

I noticed that the order that the navigation is following is the same as in the id column, not the order column. Could it be possible that the programming for the navigation is taking the id instead of the order?

This is what the table shows and is exactly the order of what’s happening:

    id | title | course_id | order

    1 | Suelo pélvico | 1002 | 1
    2 | Neurofisiología del dolor | 1002 | 2
    3 | Papel de la Enfermería | 1002 | 3
    4 | Anamnesis en la mujer | 1002 | 4
    5 | Promoción de la salud | 1002 | 6
    6 | Prevención de la salud | 1002 | 7
    7 | Test general del curso | 1002 | 9
    8 | Caso clínico | 1002 | 10
    35 | Información adicional | 1002 | 8
    36 | Anamnesis en el hombre | 1002 | 5

As you can see, sections 8 and 5 have been added later in the creation of the course. In the index they are displayed in the right order (following the column order) but in the navigation, they are following the same order than the id column, not the order column.

    Thank you

Thank you Eric, in a first review it seems to be working well. We’ll be doing a bit more test and will confirm!

Hi Eric I’m having the same problem
Can be there are some problems in last updates?

    Hello @natogua,

The problem was fixed in previous updates of the MasterStudy LMS plugin. Make sure that you are using the latest version of MasterStudy LMS.

In order to identify the cause of this issue, you should rearrange the sections by editing the Course again by disabling all 3rd party plugins temporarily.

    Kind regards

Hi Eric, we are experiencing the same issue again. The course is not following the order established in the Course Builder order.

We added two lessons to a course and they don’t follow the order.

Could you check if something happened with the navigation?

    This is the table:
    id | title | course_id | order
    14 | Adherencias pélvicas | 9962 | 2
    15 | Congestión Venosa Pélvica | 9963 | 3
    16 | Neoplasia ováricas y uterinas | 9964 | 4
    17 | Enfermedad Pélvica Inflamatoria | 9966 | 6
    18 | Test | 9967 | 7
    19 | Caso clínico | 9968 | 8
    37 | Vulvodinia | 9961 | 1
    38 | Síndrome Genitourinario de la Menopausia | 9965 | 5

The order showing in the sidebar is ok.
But from id 37 0(which is now order 1) jumps to id 38, instead of id 14 (order 2)
From id 19 (order 8) jumps to id 37 (nor order 1)
And another weird thing is that id 16 jumps to the end of the course
